The seasons as an allegory of life passing by: colourful, sleeping, dreaming, active, subtle, troubled, peaceful, sometimes dark, sometimes so bright. The espalier fruit trees that Pierre Carron planted in each of his gardens embody the seasons that mark the rhythm of life, reminders of the bond between humanity and the nurturing mother.
Birds are a strong presence in Pierre Carron’s paintings. He watches them; he captivates them. His cat Willy, a skilled hunter, lays his catch at the master’s feet. Pierre seizes the chance to rescue these fragile creatures from the cat’s claws, sometimes too late. Yet nothing escapes the master’s eye as he, too, becomes a hunter of the mystery of life.
